Energy and Resources Legislation Amendment (VEET Strategic Review and Other Matters) Bill 2026

Second reading

Debate resumed on motion of Lily D’Ambrosio:

That this bill be now read a second time.

And Matthew Guy’s amendment:

That all the words after ‘That’ be omitted and replaced with the words ‘this house refuses to read this bill a second time until the government releases the strategic review of the Victorian energy upgrades scheme undertaken by the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action.’

The DEPUTY SPEAKER: The minister has moved that this bill be now read a second time. The member for Bulleen has moved a reasoned amendment to this motion. He has proposed to omit all the words after ‘That’ and replace them with the words that appear on the notice paper. The question is:

That the words proposed to be omitted stand part of the question.

Those supporting the reasoned amendment by the member for Bulleen should vote no.
