David SOUTHWICK (Caulfield) (14:39): (1767) My question is to the Deputy Premier and Minister for Education. When will the minister provide the critical funding to Caulfield Primary School that is desperately needed for basic upgrades to ensure the safety of the school? I wrote to the now Premier about this issue a few months back and have heard nothing. We have had bits of glass falling from one of the windows; bathrooms have been written up in the newspaper as being not fit for purpose. These are basic service upgrades to the total of about $300,000, half the cost of the coffee machines that have been provided by the government and less than the $1.6 million for pot plants that has also been provided to the Suburban Rail Loop. This is basic funding for our schools, which are in desperate need of repair. I ask the minister to respond to the school, which needs some answers and needs to ensure that our kids are kept safe in our schools.
