 Anthony CARBINES (Ivanhoe – Leader of the House, Minister for Artificial Intelligence and the Digital Economy, Minister for Major Events, Minister for Medical Research, Minister for Racing, Minister for Economic Development) (09:42): I say further in relation to the statement made by Jane Garrett’s family, the former member for Brunswick, that in an inaugural speech in Parliament she spoke about living her values and her respect for the dignity and the worth of others. As a fellow member of the class of 2010, I saw that firsthand. As a member of the Law Reform Committee, I saw that firsthand. I saw that with her family and her young children at that time. I hope they draw some strength from her grace and her behaviour and they draw some strength and greater understanding from her commitment to others and the way in which she sought to represent them in this place. The way in which she conducted herself is an inspiration and a lesson for us all.
