Steve DIMOPOULOS (Oakleigh – Minister for WorkSafe and the TAC, Minister for Sport, Minister for Equality) (09:50): It was a pleasure recently to officially switch on the lights at Lord Reserve in Carnegie. $250,000 was provided by our Labor government for 100-lux lights to be installed in partnership with Glen Eira council. Two sporting clubs call this place home: the Glen Eira football club and Carnegie South Cricket Club. Combined, there are over 1300 registered players, with more than 1100 of them juniors. I would like to sincerely thank both clubs, all the officials, players, supporters and mums and dads for their work and advocacy on behalf of our community. Their passion for local sport is just amazing. That entire precinct from Glen Huntly Primary School right up to Koornang Park has benefited from Labor government investment, from the swimming pool to the pavilions, to the lights, to the primary school – we are really, really proud – and to the scoreboards.
