Vicki WARD (Eltham – Minister for Public Transport, Minister for Creative Industries) (10:01): Imagine Re-Evolution is an incredible local organisation run by volunteers doing their best in supporting young people find a sense of belonging and purpose. Imagine Re-Evolution brings together young people and older mentors to create, learn and share skills while giving new life to donated materials often destined to end up in landfill. It is an impressive model, building connections across generations, giving young people opportunities to develop new skills, confidence and creativity. Their recent gala was an enjoyable celebration of their work in the community growing around them and included the opportunity to listen to Detention author Ralph Jackman. Thank you to everyone involved, particularly Jayne Clarke, founder and CEO of Imagine Re-Evolution. What began with Jayne asking how she could help break the cycle of poverty and disengagement for local children has grown into an organisation with over 300 young participants and 93 volunteers, aged between eight and 90. I am grateful for Jayne’s passion and determination, which has built a wonderful community offering young people opportunities to thrive.
