 Jade BENHAM (Mildura) (09:40): I want to acknowledge the passing of Nationals life member Gwen ‘Granny Bird’ Malcolm. Gwen was a stalwart of the Hopetoun community; a member of the CWA for several decades; a dedicated member, along with her devoted husband Alan, affectionately known as Alan from Hopetoun on the ABC, of the Nationals; and a woman after my own heart: she loved a whisky. Gwen was known as Granny Bird by her grandkids and great grandkids. You know how you realise that you do not really know someone as well as you thought you did until you attend their funeral and hear some of these stories. It was a true celebration of a life so well lived in service, kindness and dedication to her family. Vale, Gwen Malcolm.
