Chris CREWTHER (Mornington) (14:33): (1761) My constituency question is for the Minister for Roads and Road Safety. What is the timetable of this government for fixing dangerous road conditions and safety hazards on state roads in the Mornington electorate? Residents in Mornington, Mount Eliza, Mount Martha, Moorooduc, Tuerong and Baxter describe our roads as atrocious, reporting potholes, failed services, inadequate lighting, broken signs and neglected maintenance on Nepean Highway, Esplanade, Moorooduc Highway, Mornington-Tyabb Road, Coolart Road and other state roads. My office has received thousands of complaints, despite repeated representations to the minister. More than 40 reports have already been received through roadtoruin.com.au/mornington, set up by the member for Nepean, whose own tyre was damaged this week on a pothole in my electorate on the way to Parliament. These have all been forwarded to authorities, but the government has not yet acted. Residents have said they are death traps. We have even had a retired Victoria Police officer say that one patrol vehicle incurred $30,000 in rim damage in a year, with $200,000 spent across the fleet.
