Why is Echuca VicRoads refusing to register B-double truck combinations, instead forcing truck owners to unhook and bring each trailer separately to be registered? A constituent of mine who lives more than 1 hour from Echuca has bought a B-double truck combination and rang VicRoads Echuca to get it registered. They told him it could only be done at 9 am and one trailer at a time. Two round trips of 3 hours and two days to register one truck combination does not make sense to this person. He was also told he had to park right in front of the VicRoads office – if he parked across the road, they would not cross the road to register his truck. Obviously, the privatisation of VicRoads by the Labor government did not include any provision to have it actually deliver services to customers.
