Wayne FARNHAM (Narracan) (10:21): It has been no secret in this chamber that many times I have brought up the battery energy storage systems in my electorate. The particular one I want to mention today is the Samsung Darnum BESS project. Samsung have now put in their submission to the minister, but I was very disturbed to read that they have misquoted me in this Parliament, saying that I do not have a problem literally with their project. I want to be very clear about this for the Samsung consortium. I have a massive problem with their project. I do not support their project. It is in the wrong location. For them to misquote the member of Parliament for that region in their submission is absolutely abhorrent. It is misleading, and they lied. To my community, I am going to be very, very clear. I do not support it. It is in the wrong location, and Samsung need to pull their head in and actually represent what I say in this Parliament, not misconstrue it to my community. If they cannot be honest enough to quote me properly in this place, how can we trust them to do the right thing by my community? As far as I am concerned, Samsung, you can get stuffed. I do not want it in my community. Go somewhere else.
