 Lily D’AMBROSIO (Mill Park) (10:33): Last week it was a pleasure to have the Premier come to my electorate of Mill Park, alongside Elizabeth Nealy, Labor’s wonderful candidate for Mill Park. We began on Findon Road, where the Premier announced a $270 million upgrade and duplication of that road, 3.6 kilometres between Epping Road and Civic Drive, taking the road from two lanes to four and rebuilding key intersections on the back of a re-elected Carroll government. Anyone who has sat in those queues on the school run, on the way to work or just trying to get in and out of their housing estate knows how busy Findon Road has become. I know this issue is one locals have raised with me. It is a road our families use every single day, and this commitment will mean a safer and quicker journey home for residents.

We then visited the primary campus of The Lakes South Morang College, where the Premier met students and staff. My thanks to principal Bill Panas and his team for a warm welcome, and thank you to the students who prepared a lovely card for me. From there, it was a short walk across the road to Frankie’s Cafe. We met with Frankie, who is such a pillar of our community. He is a true local hero. Frankie helps handle the catering for local schools and local sporting clubs and goes above and beyond in so many ways to have a warm and welcoming environment. Thanks always to Frankie for the lovely coffee and pastries. We finished at Mernda Community Hospital, where urgent care, imaging and dialysis services are helping our community. Thanks to the Premier for visiting and making such an important commitment to our community.
