 Ros SPENCE (Kalkallo – Minister for Corrections, Minister for Victim Support, Minister for Youth Justice, Minister for Community Sport) (10:30): Today I would like to recognise the outstanding achievements of the 1st Wallan Wallan Scout Group and the dedicated volunteers who continue to provide life-changing opportunities for young people across our growing community. Over the past year the group has grown in strength and now supports 58 registered youth members across its Joey, Cub, Scout and Venturer groups, reflecting the strength of the program and the commitment of local families. A particular achievement has been the successful return of full management of the Wallan market to the Scout group. This role helps secure the group’s major fundraising activity and ensures it can continue supporting young people for years to come.

I would like to acknowledge group leader Erin Petrucelli for her leadership and dedication, as well as group chair Damian Petrucelli and the entire leadership team, committee members, adult supporters and volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make scouting possible. It is also important to recognise several outstanding youth achievements from the past year. Congratulations to Lucas Petrucelli on achieving the prestigious Grey Wolf Award, the peak award for Cub Scouts. Congratulations also to Hayley Waddell and Jackson Scott on attaining the Australian Scout Award, one of the highest achievements available within the Scout section. These awards reflect years of commitment, leadership and personal development. The group’s Venturers have also achieved great success by winning first patrol for Venturers in the Top Gear event, while members across the section ‍– (Time expired)
