Annabelle CLEELAND (Euroa) (10:27): The Nationals are ready to get on with the job of rebuilding regional Victoria. After years of Labor taking regional Victorians for granted and ripping off our communities, we have a plan to deliver the things our communities desperately need. We will fix our roads, investing $5 billion to repair and rebuild Victoria’s road network, plus $288 million for country roads and bridges. We will tackle crime genuinely, with 3000 additional police officers, tougher bail and sentencing laws and consequences for repeat offenders. We will rebuild regional health care, with $10,000 incentives to attract more doctors, nurses, midwives and allied health professionals to our regions. We will build more homes, cut red tape and unlock land so families and young people can afford to stay and build their future in regional Victoria. We will fix the regional public transport that Labor has destroyed, with more seats, more services and more freedom to travel on the Seymour and Albury lines. We will ease the cost of living by scrapping Labor’s emergency services tax and unlocking gas to deliver more affordable and reliable energy. We will protect prime agricultural land from renewables and put them where they belong, which is in industrial zones. Most importantly, we will deliver a fair share guarantee that will ensure regional Victorians finally receive at least 25 per cent of new infrastructure investment. The Nationals are ready to govern. We are ready to stop the waste, end the corruption and deliver a fair share for regional Victoria.
