Sonya KILKENNY (Carrum – Attorney-General, Minister for Planning, Minister for Prevention of Family Violence) (10:11): I was delighted to present the Player of the Finals award at the Carrum Patterson Lakes Junior Football Club presentation day. Congratulations to the outstanding recipient Summer Rae. Summer showed not only what it means to be a great footballer but what it means to be a great teammate and leader. I also want to acknowledge the commitment of Carrum Patterson Lakes Junior Football Club to supporting and growing opportunities for girls and women in sport. This club has created a sporting culture where girls know they absolutely belong. This commitment matters. It is helping build confidence in young girls today and creating the next generation of women who will lead on and off the field. I thank Chris Cassap, Jodie Burton, Nick Williams, Lauren Parry and everyone at the club for the life-changing work they are doing.
