Cars – recently I attended a rally in the electorate of the member for Kew, the Leader of the Opposition, right near the border of mine, about the Labor government’s plan to put an unventilated smokestack in the North East Link, which will spew all kinds of pollution across suburbs, schools and parks, with no consultation with residents and no consultation with schools – and they are still unapologetic about it. The residents of Balwyn, of Bulleen and of Templestowe Lower know that only a Liberal–Nationals government will fix this problem once and for all. Only a Liberal–Nationals government will listen to local residents – not some independent who wants to have a discussion and talk about whose land we are on. We actually want people to fix the problem, fix it quickly, get a decision and do it properly, and that is what a Liberal–Nationals government will do.
