Ros SPENCE (Kalkallo – Minister for Corrections, Minister for Victim Support, Minister for Youth Justice, Minister for Community Sport) (10:02): I would like to recognise two outstanding young people whose achievements reflect the talent, dedication and potential of our growing community.

Firstly, I congratulate Allanah Collett and GKR Karate Wallan on their exceptional success at the GKR Karate World Cup in England. Allanah delivered an outstanding performance, winning a gold medal and two silver medals, including a world championship title. Her achievement reflects an extraordinary level of dedication, perseverance and commitment to her sport. It is also a testament to the strong support provided by GKR Karate Wallan, whose coaches, volunteers and members continue to nurture local talent and create opportunities for young people to excel on the international stage.

I also wish to acknowledge Prabhnoor Dhaliwal from Mickleham Secondary College, who is undertaking work experience in my electorate office this week. During his placement Prabhnoor has demonstrated enthusiasm, professionalism and a genuine interest in learning about government, community engagement and public service. Prabhnoor has a strong interest in studying law at university after completing high school, and I have been impressed by his thoughtful approach and eagerness to learn.

Both Allanah and Prabhnoor have represented themselves in our community with distinction. I congratulate them on their achievements and wish them every success in their future endeavours.
