Warringal Private Hospital

Anthony CARBINES (Ivanhoe – Leader of the House, Minister for Artificial Intelligence and the Digital Economy, Minister for Major Events, Minister for Medical Research, Minister for Racing, Minister for Economic Development) (09:41): Happy 50th birthday to Warringal Private Hospital. I was pleased to join them at the 50th anniversary, because at the heart of that celebration was a brand new, purpose-built, 16-bay emergency department in Heidelberg, the centrepiece of Warringal’s $198 million redevelopment. It has been designed to care for adults and children alike, with dedicated paediatric treatment bays, fast-track areas for less complex cases, resuscitation rooms, acute treatment bays and an isolation room. It is backed by the full strength of this wonderful hospital and its specialised medical, surgical, intensive care and diagnostic services. This all means patients can move seamlessly into care if they need to be admitted. Walk-in patients are already welcome at Warringal Private Hospital. The ambulance arrivals will begin from next month. It is up and running. The department is expected to care for some 19,000 patients every year. That is a phenomenal number. Not only that, it means jobs – around 30 nursing roles and a number of support positions, adding to a Warringal workforce that is already close to 1000-strong.
