David SOUTHWICK (Caulfield) (09:40): It was a great pleasure to join parents and friends at Kilvington Grammar – I am wearing the Kilvington Grammar tie today – supporting 30 years of their early learning centre. It was a great tribute to the Swann family. Frederick Swann moved to Ormond and bought a house there to ensure that his two children could go to that school and many years later sold the family house to the school, and it then became the early learning centre. To see Victoria and Janine at the school on the 30-year celebration was a real tribute. It is a great school. One of the things I particularly like about the school is that grade 5 kids are mentoring those in the early learning centre, which is setting those kids up for life. It is a model that we should see in all schools. Thank you to principal Rob French and to Lyn Pewtress, who is the early learning centre head and who many call Lyn the lunch lady.
