Tim McCURDY (Ovens Valley) (09:55): During a cost-of-living crisis in Victoria, the Carroll Labor government has been caught out with yet another massive deception, this time fleecing public transport users to prop up its underfunded and overpriced Suburban Rail Loop. No matter where you live in Victoria and no matter what your income is, being fleeced by Labor hurts us all. At what stage can we expect an apology from Premier Carroll for keeping these secrets from hardworking Victorians? Labor’s credibility was at an all-time low, and now they have stooped even lower by their standards. While families cannot afford their grocery bills in my communities, they are now being slugged to catch a train or a bus to seek basic services. Saying sorry would be a significant start. Stop deceiving Victorians.
