 Meng Heang TAK (Clarinda) (19:11): (1824) My adjournment matter is for the Minister for Planning, and the action I seek is for the minister to provide the latest update on the developments of the former Kingswood golf course. This development is a significant issue for many Dingley Village residents. It is something that is raised with me on a regular basis, and I have been in regular contact with the minister and her office on this issue going back to April 2025. I would like to reiterate some of the community concerns around supporting infrastructure for the development, density, neighbourhood character, roads and open space.

While there are some road improvements which have been included for Centre Dandenong Road, some updates on the stormwater drainage assets and some clearer outcomes on landscape and tree retention, the community wants to see much more to make sure this represents a net community benefit for Dingley Village. Community concerns remain around the number of dwellings and the request to have multiple-storey dwellings located in the centre of the development, and they want to better maintain neighbourhood character and ensure amenity for existing and future residents.

In terms of the net community benefit and supporting infrastructure, the community funding from the proponent towards an offsite multipurpose community centre, which includes a kindergarten, is welcome. Road improvements are also welcome, but there are still concerns about the Centre Dandenong Road and Tootal Road roundabout and the McClure Road and Tootal Road intersection. Further, community concerns around parking and health services still need to be addressed, and residents feel further consideration should be provided to residential and community aged care within single-storey dwellings for downsizing residents as well as the need for expanded facilities at existing primary and secondary schools for Dingley Village kids.

Finally, the proposed contributions toward an offsite active and open-space reserve and sports pavilion are welcome, but the Kingswood fields proposed advocacy concept needs to be considered as a relevant project. I will continue to advocate strongly with the minister through the planning permit stage, which represents another opportunity for improvement, and I will continue to update the community as it progresses. As the local member and as a resident of Dingley Village, I will continue to push hard for a community net benefit for Dingley Village. I thank the minister and am looking forward to her response.
