 Nina TAYLOR (Albert Park) (13:10): The Y Rowing Club is housed within the boat bays on the ground floor of the Lakeside Pavilion function centre at Albert Park Lake in Melbourne. The club was founded in 1910 to provide rowing opportunities for women, and I am happy to say it is still thriving today. I was so pleased to be able to attend with them an official launch of their renovated club site, pursuant to a government grant that was executed through Parks Victoria. It is wonderful to see, on the one hand, them keeping fit and being able to row around the beautiful Albert Park Lake, but also the kinship that is expressed. The new renovated facilities mean that they are able to connect more easily. It is more welcoming and accommodating, but they also have the gym equipment there too. That was really lovely and lovely to get to know them as well.
