 Danny O’BRIEN (Gippsland South) (13:06): In my own patch the Foster CFA continues its long wait for a new fire station, one that I have been campaigning for for at least a decade. We have a site identified near the former Foster railway station and a long-term lease arrangement in place for construction but no money from the Labor government to build a new station. Captain David Jones and his team have been very patient. They are putting up with an old, out-of-date station that means they cannot get upgraded appliances because newer trucks simply will not fit. It is so small that it is not safe for them to get changed for a job while trucks are moving in and out. It is time that changed.
