 Daniela DE MARTINO (Monbulk) (13:07): I was honoured to join the Minister for Emergency Services at the VICSES Emerald unit to announce new supports for SES volunteers and launch the Are You Storm Ready? initiative. Our SES volunteers give so much of their time to keep our community safe, often in challenging circumstances, and we are proud to support their vital work. The Emerald unit responded to 930 incidents last storm season – it is the state’s busiest unit – and we can all help them by being storm ready: clearing gutters, securing loose items and trimming back overhanging branches. Thanks to them now and always.
