Road maintenance
Danny O’BRIEN (Gippsland South) (14:22): My question is to the Premier. The Premier has pledged that Labor wants to bring road maintenance back in house to government. Why did the Premier promise this just a week after he finalised the privatisation of the last remaining in-house government road builder SprayLine Road Services?
Ben CARROLL (Niddrie – Premier) (14:22): We have doubled the road maintenance budget since they were in office. While they have promised 250,000 potholes, we will get rid of half a million potholes, and we will bring it in house. I ask you to match the commitment.

Danny O’BRIEN (Gippsland South) (14:23): If Labor privatises road building one week and says it wants government to do the work the next, why should Victorians believe a single promise this government makes?
Ben CARROLL (Niddrie – Premier) (14:23): This is a comprehensive plan that includes bringing road maintenance back in house, making sure there is no buck-passing. My question is: will those opposite match our promise?
