 Juliana ADDISON (Wendouree) (14:35): (1725) My constituency question is for the Attorney-General. What is the Victorian government doing to protect women and girls across Victoria from men’s violence? In Ballarat the She Matters mural stands as a powerful memorial for the women and girls whose lives have been taken by men’s violence in Australia. Tragically, six more women and girls have recently joined the growing toll in recent weeks, including Layla Jeffery, a 13-year-old girl from Donald whose death shocked communities across regional Victoria. Their preventable deaths contribute to the national toll of women killed this year and leave family, friends and communities devastated. Women and men across my community and Victoria are angry and want more to be done to prevent men’s violence before another woman is killed.
