 Gary MAAS (Narre Warren South) (10:36): I rise to speak about my recent visit to Transit Soup Kitchen and Food Support Narre Warren, where I was once again able to see their excellent work. Transit provides crucial food relief while also supporting people experiencing financial hardship across my electorate and surrounding areas. It was great to catch up with the team, including manager Michelle Pinxt, for a tour of their updated facility and to see the many volunteers providing free hot meals and distributing food to those who need it most through their community pantry. Transit also connects people with a range of supports, including mental health, medical or government services, through their Beyond the Meal program. They understand that, while food is the immediate concern, Transit can also provide broader access to vital wraparound support to help people get back on track. A really big thankyou to Michelle and her whole team of volunteers at Transit for their ongoing kindness and hard work that services our community.
