 Gabrielle DE VIETRI (Richmond) (14:34): (1724) My question is for the Minister for Planning. In 2024 the Greens secured reforms to crack down on short-stay accommodation. We won new laws that allow apartment owners to ban Airbnb in their building, a short-stay levy and a written commitment from this government to give local councils the power to regulate, impose conditions on and even prohibit short-stays in their communities from early 2025. It is now mid-2026 and time is running out to put in place strong regulations that will free up homes that are being hoarded for profit instead of for people to actually live in. Our communities are crying out for this reform, and the government promised it. Will you follow through on your commitment before the election, or is this yet another one of your government’s broken promises?
