 Gary MAAS (Narre Warren South) (14:31): (1721) My constituency question is for the Attorney-General, and it concerns the state Labor government’s recent announcement regarding new laws to protect kids online. Attorney-General, how will these reforms help families in my electorate of Narre Warren South to keep kids safe from online harm? We know social media and AI can be great tools, but technology is evolving rapidly, and keeping up with change is also a challenge. But that does not mean big tech can shirk their responsibility or have immunity when it comes to ensuring that these spaces are safe. As a parent, I was pleased to see the state Labor government’s recent announcement of reforms to support victims of online harm and put some power back in the hands of families. I look forward to sharing the Attorney-General’s response with my community.
