 Steve McGHIE (Melton) (10:44): It was fantastic to drive over the new Ferris Road overpass, which is now open to traffic, making it the first completed level crossing removal in the Melton electorate. For years local families, commuters and businesses have been delayed by the boom gates. Their removal now means safer journeys, less congestion and traffic moving more freely. The other two crossings in Melton are also nearing completion. The Exford Road level crossing removal and the brand new Melton station, as well as Coburns Road level crossing removal, are next. Together these projects are transforming the way locals move around Melton.
