 Daniela DE MARTINO (Monbulk) (10:29): I was delighted to join the member for Bayswater and our Labor candidate for Bayswater Julie Buxton at the sod turn for the new CFA station in The Basin. This investment in our local brigade is critical, and it means there will be a place to fit in the next-gen pumper that we have announced to go alongside the new tanker they received last year. Our CFA volunteers run towards danger when the rest of us go in the opposite direction, and they do not do it for financial reward but because of a sense of duty to their community. They are the best of us.
