 John PESUTTO (Hawthorn) (10:35): The Canterbury Council of Churches is an exemplar of the remarkable contribution that faith-based organisations make to our community. At Saturday’s winter breakfast at St Dominic’s Catholic church in Camberwell, guest speaker Paul Linossier reminded us of the vital role churches and faith groups continue to play in serving others. Whether it is supporting families in need, combatting social isolation or bringing communities together, these organisations strengthen the fabric of our society every day. I thank the council, Denis Fitzgerald and the many volunteers whose quiet generosity and humble service enrich our local community.
