Tim BULL (Gippsland East) (10:24): I think at times it is important to reflect on what is said in this place, and this week’s goings-on give reasons to do this. In the last sitting week the member for Pascoe Vale Mr Cianflone ridiculed the opposition on leadership unity. The member for Werribee, who has said a few silly things in this place, I might add, in his short time here has lectured the opposition constantly on the dumping of leaders. We have also had the member for Yan Yean see fit to criticise leadership changes, as has the member for Frankston Mr Edbrooke. But onto the medals. Bronze goes to the member for Mordialloc, who seems to focus on it every second speech; he only gets the bronze because, in fairness, he did support the Premier, but it is time for him to review things internally. Silver goes to the member for Kororoit, who said under Premier Allan that the party was ‘united and unstoppable’, only to be one of the main traitors. The gold goes to who else but the new Premier for his constant barbs across the table about counting numbers – exactly what he has been doing this week – and saying he supported the Premier 100 per cent. His pants are on fire.
