 Pauline RICHARDS (Cranbourne) (10:48): There is a lot going on in Cranbourne. I am really pleased to be able to host another ‘meet your neighbour’ event, and it is going to be this Friday at the Cranbourne community centre from 3:30 until 4:30. Come on down. As always we will have free face painting, and we are going to have lots of Christmas in July type dishes. We might even have a candy cane or two. Everyone in our community of Cranbourne is welcome to attend and have a cup of tea and get to know each other.

I would like to also take the opportunity to congratulate so many of our organisations who are working tirelessly, toiling away locally to provide the care, compassion and support that is a hallmark of our Cranbourne community. It is an opportunity for me to thank the Cranbourne Uniting Church for the food truck and food service and for not just being able to provide the compassion of a warm meal but also being one of those organisations that really does listen and make a conscious effort to never judge and always be there for people. I would also like to take the opportunity, in a similar vein, to thank St John’s church, who also provide food service. It is so important to be able to have organisations where people care, people listen and people provide the sort of meals that are needed. And as always, the Sikh Volunteers are rockstars.
