Hiba is a single mother of five children who is currently staying in crisis accommodation in my region due to family violence. I am asking this question with her full permission, and I am happy to provide further information to relevant staff. She contacted my office to receive support with her social housing application. My office called the Broadmeadows housing office to check on the status of her application and was asked to send an email. We sent an email the same day to the Broadmeadows office and asked for an urgent response. After 11 days and no response my staff forwarded this email directly to your office, again asking for assistance with information on the status of Hiba’s application. This was now over a month ago, and we have not received any response from either the Broadmeadows housing office or your office. The emails and inquiries on Hiba’s behalf have been flat out ignored. Minister, can you please make inquiries as to the status of Hiba’s priority housing application for her and her children?
