Minister, for how many years will the people on the Warrnambool line who use the train through the electorate of Polwarth be paying your new Suburban Rail Loop tax on their fares each and every time they get on the train? My community will have been shocked today to learn that the Auditor-General has found a secret tax that you have levied now since January 2025 on every single bus and train user in the electorate of Polwarth to help pay for your tunnel in the outer-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. This tax of course is cumulative, and the Auditor-General revealed that it is going to increase 1 per cent every year for X amount of years. Minister, I really want to know and the people of Polwarth want to know: how long will they be paying for a tunnel in Melbourne they will never use?
