Gary MAAS (Narre Warren South) (14:45): (1785) My constituency question is for the Minister for Police and concerns the expansion of police and PSO patrols in shopping centres. Minister, how will these changes to Operation Pulse help support community safety in my electorate of Narre Warren South? I welcome the Carroll Labor government’s recent announcement, which commits to putting more police and more PSOs in areas where our community shops, works and spends time. This is bolstered by the recruitment of an additional 150 PSOs for the expansion of Operation Pulse until the end of 2027. My community has welcomed PSOs and police patrolling throughout the year at our local shopping centre Westfield Fountain Gate. Everyone should feel safe as they go about their daily lives, which is why this government is giving police the powers and resources they need to do their important work. I look forward to sharing the minister’s response with my community.
