 Nathan LAMBERT (Preston) (10:08): I would like to begin by acknowledging the sad passing of Robert ‘Bob’ Cross, who played a very significant role in the Darebin community through his leadership of Preston RSL and its successor the Darebin RSL. Bob joined what was then Preston RSL in 1975 as a service member following his own service and then took on leadership roles for almost half a century, guiding the club through a number of significant challenges, including the mergers that led to the Darebin RSL that we know today. He made a huge personal contribution to the support of our local veterans, service members, affiliate members and the broader community. Our thoughts are with his wife Shirley, his family and everyone across the Darebin community who will miss his presence and leadership.
