Pauline RICHARDS (Cranbourne) (14:41): (1781) My constituency question is to the Minister for Health Ms Stitt in the other place. What will a new urgent care clinic at the Cranbourne Community Hospital mean for the people living in Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs? On 6 October last year, which also happened to be my brother’s birthday, the new Cranbourne Community Hospital opened and we could not have been happier. Ophthalmology; dental; dialysis; adult mental health services; rehabilitation; family, child and youth services; pathology; pharmacy and great coffee – what more could you ask for? There is one more thing you could ask for, and that is free parking. I fought like a woman possessed to get free parking for my community hospital, and I won. While some, including those opposite, say the community hospital is not a real hospital, I happen to know that the many nurses, clinicians, doctors, cleaners, physiotherapists and allied health professionals love the work they do, and I want to thank them. The last piece in the Cranbourne Community Hospital is the urgent care clinic. I look forward to the minister’s response.
