Rowville electorate
Kim WELLS (Rowville) (14:33): (1734) My question is directed to the Minister for Roads and Road Safety. Minister, the question I ask is: when will the Carroll Labor government finally provide the urgent funding required to fix the crumbling roads and dangerous potholes right across the Rowville electorate? For years I have stood in this place and highlighted the deplorable state of our local roads, particularly our main arterial roads: Ferntree Gully, Stud, High Street, Kelletts, Napoleon and Wellington roads. My constituents in Rowville electorate are sick and tired of footing the bill for blown tyres and cracked rims because this government simply cannot get the basics right. While the Labor government oversees billions in Big Build blowouts, our local roads have been completely neglected, relying on half-hearted patch-up jobs that wash away in the very next downpour. In stark contrast, the Liberal–National coalition have just announced a $5 billion 2026 state election commitment to eliminate 1 million potholes.
