Wayne FARNHAM (Narracan) (09:46): Victoria has a new Premier this week – a Premier that is backflipping on every policy. The Premier has come out and said that he will have a royal commission into the corruption payments that have occurred in this state, but I just wonder how far this new Premier will go. He has already talked about integrity, which he lacks. You do not look someone in the eye and say you have my support and then stab them in the back. So his integrity is in doubt to start with. But how far will this royal commission go? Will he call the former premiers before this royal commission? And if those former premiers are found to be implicated in the corruption in this state, will he go further and cancel their defined benefits? Because goodness knows, this state has lost $15 billion in corruption payments, and now we are paying two former premiers $300,000 a year for life. Victorians have paid enough. This royal commission needs to happen, and it needs to happen quickly.
