 Cindy McLEISH (Eildon) (14:30): (1730) My question is for the Minister for Planning. Residents of and near McMahons Road in Launching Place have concerns about the proposed expansion of the Yarra Valley Quarries in their immediate vicinity. Can the minister explain why she does not require an environment effects statement for the expansion for this project? Locals are concerned about the impact of this expansion from a number of points of view, including dust, noise, water quality and increased truck movements. The junction between McMahons Road and Dalry Road is pretty dodgy at the best of times, and residents are very concerned about that. I understand that there is an important balance to be struck between developments such as this and community amenity, and I would appreciate a prompt response from the minister.
