Coles Craigieburn Central

Ros SPENCE (Kalkallo – Minister for First Peoples, Minister for Roads and Road Safety, Minister for Community Sport) (09:59): I would like to recognise the incredible efforts of the Coles Craigieburn Central team, who recently came together to support this year’s DIY Big Freeze FightMND fundraiser. Led by store manager Voula and supported by Maria, affectionately known as Yoohoo, the Coles team organised a fantastic community event that brought together people for a cause that is close to the hearts of many Victorians. Their dedication and months of planning helped create a successful fundraiser that raised more than $5000, surpassing the team’s original goal. The event featured guest speaker Krystal and saw James, Julian, Michelle, Valda, Bill, Andrew, Sebastian, Emma and Maria bravely take part in the dunk tank, helping raise funds and awareness for the fight against motor neurone disease. Importantly, this was not just a Coles effort. A number of Craigieburn Central tenants rallied behind the fundraiser, with businesses across the centre lending their support. I also acknowledge the support of the Craigieburn Central management team, whose involvement helped make the event such a success.

I particularly commend Voula and Maria for their tireless work in engaging the local community and coordinating support from fellow tenants. Their leadership demonstrated the generosity, compassion and community spirit of Craigieburn. I congratulate everyone involved and thank them for making a meaningful contribution to FightMND. Their efforts are a great example of what can be achieved when the community comes together to support an important cause.
