Matthew GUY (Bulleen) (09:39): Residents of Bulleen are facing the construction of a smokestack for the North East Link that will be 53 metres high, that will have no air filtration and that is going to pour thousands of cubic grams of exhaust onto the Veneto Club, onto Belle Vue Primary and onto the Trinity sports fields and other local schools, not to mention the hundreds of homes that surround it. This facility is under construction now. There is no concept from the state government that they will put a filter in this facility, and residents are furious. They are angry. They have been deceived by a government that said they would look after their health and look after their wellbeing, and none of that is the case. If the flip-flop Premier decides that he can change his views on union corruption, change his views on the Suburban Rail Loop and literally change his views on everything he has said for the last decade, why won’t he stand up for the people in the wake of the North East Link who are facing a smokestack over their homes? This Premier is underwhelming, insincere and believes in nothing. He does not even believe that union corruption exists, yet he was the transport minister when it was occurring. He was either stupid, he was ignorant or he was part of the corruption. Time will expose this man as the fraud that he is. The election will expose him as a fraudulent Premier.
