Mildura electorate
Jade BENHAM (Mildura) (14:35): (1690) My constituency question comes from John Burfitt of Red Cliffs, and his question is: how does this government justify supplying –
The SPEAKER: Who is the question to – which minister?
Jade BENHAM: The Premier. How does this government justify supplying convicted criminals in Victorian prisons Ozempic and Mounjaro whilst families are having to pay thousands in non-PBS medications to save their children? John is an absolute community champion. He runs a charity called C.H.A.I.L.I.S, or Children Having an Illness Living in Sunraysia, and currently he has a family on his books who need to find an extra $7500 per month for a trial medication that could save their 12-year-old son’s leg from being amputated. John is obviously a little frustrated at the media reports that have come out over the past week and he has had to have some hard conversations, so he is asking simply: how on earth does this government justify that?
