Mount Buller Road
Cindy McLEISH (Eildon) (10:40): The speed limit on the Mount Buller Road between the Sebel at Merrijig and Sawmill Settlement has been reduced from 100 kilometres to 80 kilometres and more recently to 60 kilometres. This change stunned residents and regular road users and was made without prior notice or consultation. The minister needs to outline what evidence or assessment informed the decision to further reduce the speed limit from 80 to 60. Further, the minister must come clean and inform the community if this reduction is intended to be temporary or seasonal, and if so, when the 80-kilometre limit will be reinstated.
