Victorian African Communities Committee

Pauline RICHARDS (Cranbourne) (10:52): I am very pleased to congratulate the newly formed members of the Victorian African Communities Committee. This is an extraordinary committee who are doing really important work on behalf of the Victorian community. I would particularly like to acknowledge and congratulate the co-chairs, very well known, very hardworking members that they are, Mahamed Ahmed and Dr Rumbi Nyanhoto. The other members are Tigist Kebede, who has been working very hard and is somebody very well known to me; Fred Alale; Nyachan Nyak; Abraham Kuol, who is very well known to many people in this place; Gebreselasie Gebru; Jemima Lotika; Noma Johnson; Nimo Hersi; and Achol Arow. This committee is formed by some of the most esteemed and accomplished members of the African communities and represents rural, regional and metropolitan areas of Victoria. We are so fortunate to have their wise insight.
