Will FOWLES (Ringwood) (19:06): (1867) I rise with a heart that is both heavy and full. The action I seek this evening is for the Premier to write a note of thanks to all the departing electorate office staff irrespective of where their members sit in this chamber. It is also an opportunity of course, as we have heard from both the Premier and the Leader of the Opposition, to express some gratitude to all of those members leaving this place. It was lovely to watch just a moment ago the collegiate way in which people farewelled one another. I will add to that my farewell in these terms:

We’ll meet again

Don’t know where, don’t know when

But I know we’ll meet again some sunny day

Keep smiling through

Just like you always do

’Til the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away

So will you please say hello to the folks that I know

Tell them I won’t be long

They’ll be happy to know that as you saw me go

I was singing this song

We’ll meet again

Don’t know where, don’t know when

But I know we’ll meet again some sunny day

The DEPUTY SPEAKER: It would be bah humbug of me to suggest that singing and clapping are both disorderly, but we will move on.
