Gabrielle WILLIAMS (Dandenong – Minister for Education, Minister for Skills and Training, Minister for First Peoples, Minister for Women and Gender Equality) (09:42): I rise today to celebrate and thank my community in Dandenong. Since 2014 I have proudly represented one of the most diverse communities in the country, and together we have achieved a lot. In just the last four years this Labor government has delivered a brand new tech school in Dandenong. Over the 12 years I have represented the community we have upgraded almost every local school across the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines. We have built more social housing, and in the last four years that included some more social housing in Noble Park. We have in this last term alone saved the Doveton pool. We have delivered the Stud Road pedestrian crossing. We have upgraded a number of local sporting and community precincts. We have established in my time a brand new mental health and wellbeing local, and before that we opened an Orange Door. These are services that would not exist but for Labor. We backed our local multicultural communities with funding and improvement for facilities and for festivals. We have funded significant upgrades to the Dandenong Hospital, and in my time we have halved the local unemployment rate. We have also benefited from free TAFE and 20 per cent off rego, free breakfast clubs in schools, free kinder and so much more. This government has continued to back local jobs. We have always proudly backed multiculturalism and the diversity on which my community is built. But all this is at stake, because a Liberal–One Nation coalition stands against diversity.
