Mordialloc electorate
Tim RICHARDSON (Mordialloc – Minister for Local Government, Minister for Consumer Affairs, Minister for Renters) (09:56): It has been an honour to represent the Mordialloc district over the last three terms, and the investment in our area is unprecedented, from level crossing removals at Chelsea, Edithvale, Aspendale, Mordialloc, Parkdale, Mentone and Cheltenham and building brand new train stations to delivering the Mordialloc Freeway, talked about for decades and delivered under this Labor government, taking pressure off our local roads and getting people home to the people they love and care about sooner.
When we see the upgrades to our local schools – Chelsea, Chelsea Heights, Edithvale, Mordialloc Beach Primary School, Mordialloc College, Parkdale Secondary College, St John Vianney’s Primary School, St Louis de Montfort’s Primary School, St Joey’s primary school, St Brigid’s Primary School and, when I took over the area of Keysborough South, Keysborough Gardens Primary School – we see that investing in the people that are supporting our next generation is so very critical. To the teachers and education support staff, I am so proud of the agreement that has been secured that supports and backs them.
To our hospital staff and our nurses, our midwives and our allied health staff in our hospitals in Frankston, in Monash and in Dandenong, which we are upgrading and delivering: we back you. We delivered the pay rise, a 28 per cent pay rise, and we added 17,500 more nurses and midwives, because Labor backs education and it backs our health workers.
