Ivanhoe electorate
Anthony CARBINES (Ivanhoe – Leader of the House, Minister for Artificial Intelligence and the Digital Economy, Minister for Major Events, Minister for Medical Research, Minister for Racing, Minister for Economic Development) (09:45): The Victorian people always get it right. I do offer my thanks to the Ivanhoe electorate across the 60th Parliament and the work that we have been doing since I arrived here for the 57th Parliament. We have worked to achieve many outcomes for the locals, including duplicating the Hurstbridge line between Heidelberg and Rosanna to run extra services; the new and expanded Chandler Highway bridge; the North East Link to get 15,000 trucks off local roads; our Austin Hospital emergency department, where a $275 million emergency department expansion is underway right now; the $14 million new gym and classrooms at Heidelberg Primary School, which are almost finished; the $750,000 new Ivanhoe library; the $76 million for 130 new homes at the Tarakan estate in West Heidelberg; the new SES that has opened for services in West Heidelberg; the 100-plus new homes under construction on the Bell-Bardia estate, thanks to a $55 million contribution from our government; the new Olympic Village Primary School for $6 million, which is providing services to my local community; the new Rosanna Library, where $1.5 million is operating and providing services; the level crossing gone at Rosanna, with a new station that is servicing our community; the Macleod level crossing will soon be gone; and my old school Viewbank College, where we have a new performing arts centre providing great services for the community – and I have got a feeling that I might just have some new announcements for Viewbank College, my old school, very shortly. Can I also say that both the Liberal Party and One Nation candidates do not live locally in the electorate. Vote for a local in Ivanhoe – that is going to be me.
