James NEWBURY (Brighton) (14:15): My question is to the Premier. Following the government’s grubby cover-up deal with the Greens, why is it Carroll government policy to provide a protection racket with public interest immunity to former premiers Daniel Andrews and the member for Bendigo East?
Ben CARROLL (Niddrie – Premier) (14:16): This is from the man who did a dirty deal with One Nation to cut work from home. We are on integrity. You are all talk.
Members interjecting.
The SPEAKER: Member for Bulleen, I note that you have just come back into the chamber. The Premier will direct his comments through the Chair.
James Newbury: On a point of order, Speaker, on relevance, this question is serious and goes to integrity. If the Premier has none, he should just say that.
The SPEAKER: I do not uphold the point of order. The Premier has concluded his answer.
James NEWBURY (Brighton) (14:17): Will the Premier guarantee that every government document of the last 12 years requested by the royal commission will be provided to it in full?
Ben CARROLL (Niddrie – Premier) (14:17): I am not surprised that the Shadow Attorney-General has not done his homework. We have given the royal commissioner the power to compel information, and he should know that.
James Newbury: On a point of order, Speaker, on relevance, this question was a very, very simple question, and the Premier is misleading in his response by not being relevant.
The SPEAKER: That is not a point of order. I do not uphold the point of order. The Premier has concluded his answer.
